1988 Chevy K1500 305 auto with 64k miles. ?
Did full tune up. AC Delco cap and rotor and plugs gapped at .035. Stalls in gear with new cap. Tried several different caps. Runs “ok” but dead spot when accel. with old cap. New cap runs great but stalls. New TPS,Coil,IAC,Temp sensor,TBI gasket. Had ignition control module checked and good. Dies like you cut it off when idle comes down to rest. Does ok with old cap with lite throttle and full throttle…1/4 and 1/2 runs like its got a bad wire. No check engine light. Will die in neutral with transfer case in neutral also. Any ideas?
Check your grounds, engine to frame, engine to body, body to frame. Gotta have good ground for electrical sytem to have voltage. Check volts to coil while it is runnin if ya can. Vaccuum line off somewhere maybe, Timing got moved possibly. Ive had issues like that in a 92 chevy when I put a new engine in and didnt ground it good enough though. start there.
