Nascar Crew Member Salary
What is the salary of a NASCAR pit crew member?
I am interested in going to a pit crew school and this is what I want to know… the salary.
Odds of making over 100,000 per year are unrealistic unless you win a bunch of races and nail a championship. If you just do pit crew duties on weekends, the last number I heard of was about $1,000 a race for some of the top paid guys. I would think that number might be a little higher now. Average crew guys in the shop make $35,000 to $75,000 a year depending on what your skills are and how much experience you have. Each team has their own bonus program. Bonuses are paid out for top 10s, top 5s, wins, picking up spots on pit road, etc. I know many years ago, crew members were getting a $1,000 bonus for every race win at RCR. Think about this: that pit crew school you want to attend has already been graduating students for quite a while. You’d have to compete against them for a job. There are more eligible employees than there are positions to fill.
