| The "No Pedal" Valve Body "locks" into high
gear for a direct drive 1 to 1 ratio, while still allowing
"creeping" without stalling in low and reverse gears. Race in
High Gear Only. We now have a Low-Loc Valve Body that "locks"
into low gear for applications where a stock rear end gear is
required. The valve body allows the use of a dummy torque
converter or solid pump drive. This design eliminates the need
for an extra pedal or external ball valve. Some case
alteration is required and detailed instructions are included
with the valve body.
1) On 2 pump transmissions, drill and tap governor feed
hole with 1/4-20 and install set screw ( discard governor
assembly )
2) On all transmissions drill reverse feed hole all the way
through case with 1/4" drill, even if original hole does not
go all the way through. ( Case must be disassembled and
reverse piston removed before drilling) This insures
consistent reverse operation.
The design of the "No Pedal PowerGlide" is intended for
racing applications while still allowing for the slow speeds
required for pit road and staging. Extended slow speed driving
should be avoided to prevent over heating of the low band, put
the transmission in neutral or park when stopped.
Shift pattern is P-R-N-L-D
How to identify one or two pump transmissions:1) Remove
Tailhousing
2) Inspect Iron Governor Support on back of case (held by 4
bolts)
Casting # 3890523 is a one (1) pump transmission
Casting # 3818872 is a two (2) pump transmission
