Why did Dover motorsports close down Memphis Motorsports Park. Why?

That’s a shocker to say the least! Does anyone know why? Economy? They tried to sell it and the buyer couldn’t get financing so they just closed it.
Dover Motorsports owns Dover, Nashville and Gateway too. What about those tracks?
NHRA division 3 used to have there Sat. night points championship drag’s there at the end of the season too. Where will that be held at now?

The economy had a lot to do with it, as well as the lagging ticket sales. It doesn’t seem that Nashville or Gateway are closing… and they seem to bring more fans than Memphis, anyway. (Especially when the Memphis promoter misrepresented their race by saying Dale Jr. would run there.) Nashville will get the Memphis truck series race, and Gateway will get the Nationwide race. As for NHRA, I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that doesn’t move to the new dragstrip in Charlotte, or possibly Gateway.
